Harper`s Catfish in Scottsville

This is my favorite place to eat catfish! Huge plate of catfish and fries! Love it!

The best catfish in the area. All you can eat catfish and a drink for about 10.50 per person. Non-all you can eat plates(called a child plate) with a drink will run you about 8.50-9 comes with choice of potatoes and slaw or salad bar($1 extra). The slaw is delicious and self served from the salad bar. I have not had the salad bar but it does look good. They still have smoking and non smoking sections. The place is fairly packed on weekends but we have never had to wait longer than a few mins.

Used to love this place. Been a few years since we've been there. The catfish wasn't as good as I remembered it. Not bad, but just not great.

I'm very unhappy , i wasn't able to even place an order because they had everything turned off and they didn't close until 9pm and i called at 8:15 also i had called ahead of time to see what time they closed. That's bs this is not the first time this has happened.

I love the food, and the price is good, but the dine in experience is awful, and EVERY time i go the people are rude. I enjoy it enough to come back bbuutt i might not anymore, idk. This would be a 5 star local gem of a restaurant with just the smallest amount of work sadly.

Wish it was smoke free but the food is great. I hesitate to go because my son was born with a cleft and is very sensitive to smoke. It gives him an instant headache. And to be honest the smell does take away from the delicious food. Why do cigarettes need to be smoked in a place people congregate and eat food? This needs to be changed! Otherwise I would give it five stars even though the restaurant is hideous and cramped for space.

Reasonably priced food. Crowded, loud, very old furniture, tiny salad bar, horrible driveway and parking lot.

It really does deserve the hype. It’s called harpers catfish, order the GD catfish. It’s really good light light breaded pale golden brown, cut into slivers and nuggets and all kinds of shapes. A really refreshing change from the heavily breaded corn meal golden brown giant fillets. The fries are the classic zig zag crinkle cut from your child hood. You can pass on those. Order the meow fish and you won’t be disappointed, great price point and large portions. The only knock on this place is the cheap packets of tarter. If they were to make their tarter from scratch and or source some homemade flavorful tarter (and change fries) this place would be out of this world, bring in the food bloggers, drive an hour out of your way, good. As it is, it’s delicious and not overly crowded. If I am ever in the area I will return. Cash only. Tots are good. Catfish and tots.

It's called Harper's Catfish but they don't serve catfish? It's not even on the menu! I'm not a fan at all, run down buildings/parking lot, worn out broken dishes, subpar food, smoking section when you walk in, weird half server half cafeteria setup, and way overpriced. Giant oversized portions left me with a takeout box I didn't even want. Staff was friendly and service was pretty quick. Will leave this little gem for the diehard locals.

This is the best catfish joint in all of south central Kentucky. Dont let the outside appearance fool you (or the fact that they still have a smoking section). The food is incredible. I always order the child's plate which comes with tons of fish, fries, and trips to the coleslaw bar. I have never gone hungry ordering the child's plate, but if you think you might your other option is the all you can eat plate. They will keep bringing you as much catfish as you want. The coleslaw is amazing. They also have a salad bar as an added side. My husband got the chicken tenders and enjoyed them. Their baked potatoes are also delicious.

Best hushpuppies ever!

I personally don't eat fish, but they have many other options besides the all you can eat catfish. We have been here many times and I have never been disappointed. My husband says tbe fish is awesome. I've had shrimp, steak, pork chops, burgers and I'm sure other things from the menu. Their loaded baked potato is a meal itself! The potatoes they get are massive. You can't go wrong here, their carry out business is huge. Looks small from the outside but the is lots of seating

Food is great portions all you can eat service was wonderful.....but this place needs an upgrade it is definitely lost in time...let’s start by fixing the parking lot (gravel) deep ruts from water run off the hill side and the building needs a complete remodeling I’ve got closets bigger than the bathrooms that are just short of portable johns....but like I said the service,food can’t be beat....so to the owners fix the place up a little

If you like catfish, this restaurant is a must-visit. It is down a dirt road off the beaten path, but well worth the experience. Expect to have plenty to eat at an extremely reasonable price. Your cardiologist does not want you to visit, but your taste buds are in for a good time.By the way, it's cash or check only. Do not expect to pay with your debit or credit card.

Harper's is always good. They don't spend a lot on decor but they make up for it in food. Great for families.

it's great moved from Scottsville 5 year's ago to Indiana but drive back to scottsville just for the catfish

Good food. Freindly service. Clean. They dont take plastic (debit/credit cards). Closed Mon and Tues. They still allow smoking here. This is the only reason for the 3 stars instead of 4.

It is the best catfish I've ever had. Don't judge it by the building....it's AMAZING!

The fish was really good and they give you huge portions. The employees were really nice, they just need to clean it up a bit inside.

The very best catfish in the whole world

This place has delicious catfish. Best I've ever had. Never once had a muddy tasting piece. This place is what I would call a diamond in the rough. Might not look like a 5 star restaurant, but taste like one.

This was my first time to experience Harper's. Being from deep southern Louisiana, it's hard to find good fish around these parts. Pulling up, my friends kept telling me it looks rough from the outside. Hell, every dump hole in Louisiana looks worse but is also often the best food you can find. This place was no exception. Fantastic fish and butterflied shrimp. You can taste the freshness in both. I got All-you-can-eat catfish with six additional shrimp, a sweet tea and a massive baked potato. I was stuffed. However my friends ordered their home-made pie, so I got a slice of strawberry pie. Amazing. Best of all, my total was only 12 something. Unheard-of. We will be back as a family. Probably a couple times month.

Food was superb, take out only but we got two meals out of it. Lived up to all the hype!

Great fish. Super cole slaw. 2 thumbs up on iced tea. I wish the parking lot was paved. Super dusty.

I ordered the all you can eat catfish, and my server (heavyset blonde) never came back to see if I would like more fish, or even refill my water glass. I did see other tables getting plenty of refills of fish & drinks. The food was good, but the service was very poor.
